He has been married to Kathy L. Shorter, his high school sweetheart for 50+ years, and together they have three grown children and seven grandchildren.  He has authored several inspirational books including his latest book, “Winning Against All Odds.” Dr. Shorter is the founder of several community programs including, Future Aviator Pilots, an award winning STEM aviation program for youth.  (Pastor Shorter has a commercial airplane pilot and a commercial helicopter pilot license.) He is also the founder of Excellence in Business which holds business seminars encouraging entrepreneurship.
